How We Work

Clients who work with me expect results. Here’s how I deliver them. When you work with me, you will achieve some of these outcomes.

  • You’ll start off having an easy to use written roadmap that gives you and your team a steady focus. You’ll move in the right direction because you and your people will be working on your great ideas—ideas that will improve your salon/day spa’s performance.
  • You’ll reap the benefits of having an industry-specific strategic thinking partner, a confident and sounding board, someone who puts your success front and center, someone who will help you “stay the course” on your way to building a more profitable business.
  • You’ll get more new clients and retain more of your existing ones as a result of your having, once and for all, an affordable, simple to execute marketing program. One that you and your team will enjoy implementing.
  • Working with your team, you’ll develop simple to use systems to ensure your retail sales improve, while the quality of your service remains high (or even improves).
  • You’ll find yourself more easily recruiting and retaining the “right” people for your business.
  • You’ll learn to delegate and manage your team so you can focus on the important challenges you face as an owner, manager, and leader of the salon/day spa—setting the direction, planning, strategizing, and the improving the bottom line.

Guiding Beliefs & Values

Profitability is not optional. You run your salon/day spa for many reasons and one very important one is to make a profit. Profit is not optional and I work very closely with owners/managers to do everything possible to increase their salon/day spa’s overall profitability.

Salons/Day Spas can and should be great places to work. Sure you’re in the business to make a profit, but if your people dread coming to work everyday because of the way the business is managed, you’re going to have serious productivity issues. Working in a salon/day spa can be a fulfilling, rewarding, and satisfying experience.

It all starts with the owner/manager. There’s an old Sicilian saying “the fish stinks from the head down.” That’s true for any business and salons/day spas are no exception. Your salon/day spa is a reflection of your thinking and the actions you take as a result of that thinking. So if your thinking is off, it only follows that your business will be too.

You don’t need a degree from Harvard to run a widely successful salon/day spa business. Too many people in the salon/day spa business believe because they don’t have a degree they somehow are not capable of learning the numbers, the marketing, systems design, and leadership. This couldn’t be further from the truth.

The biggest obstacle to a salon/day spa owner’s success is himself (or herself). I know that competition is fierce, money is an issue, clients can be fickle, and staff can be less than co-operative at times. These are things that every business deals with—they’re just part of life. However, at the end of the day, the difference between being successful or not is your desire, your persistence, and your willingness to step out of your comfort zone.

My approach

I’m above all, flexible. Different clients need different things. One size doesn’t fit all. Although I have a variety of programs (see services page) that address a wide variety of issues, I approach each salon/day spa with the same attitude. I work with you to produce sustainable results for you and your business with the least amount of struggle.

Quick response is guaranteed. Nothing is more frustrating than working with a consultant or coach who will not answer their phone calls or return their e-mails. I don’t just try to be responsive, I guarantee your calls or emails will be returned within 24 hours or less.

You’re going to be challenged and stretched. I believe you have a lot more in you than perhaps you do. So I’m not going to let you off the hook, because frankly, I wouldn’t be doing you a service. You came to me because you wanted someone to help you achieve your goals and that’s going to take your being pushed out of your comfort zone at times. If you’re not prepared for that, then I’m not the person for you.

What makes me different?

When you’re looking for help these days, there’s a lot to choose from. What makes me different from the rest of the pack lies in the fact that I’ve been a successful salon/day spa owner-manager and for over twenty years, I’ve been working with the top people in the business. I don’t just work with theory, but with practical “hands-on” approaches that are proven to work.

What do you do next?

Now that you have a better idea about the results you can expect from me, go to the service page, which outlines the services and products I offer.
